Visiting Ramsgate

To get to Ramsgate by car, take the A299 from either London or Canterbury and follow the signs to Ramsgate. From Dover, take the A256 towards Ramsgate.

If you're coming by rail, Ramsgate has its own station which is serviced by trains from London, Canterbury, Ashford and other local towns.

If you're already in Kent, a nice way to get to Ramsgate is by taking the Viking Coastal Trail, a scenic cycle path that runs along the coast from Margate to Ramsgate.

Alternatively, if you're in Canterbury or Dover, you could take a bus to Ramsgate. The number 9 bus goes from Canterbury to Ramsgate, while the number 87 bus goes from Dover to Ramsgate.

The closest airport to Ramsgate is London Southend Airport, located approximately 36 miles away. The best way to reach Ramsgate from the airport is to take a taxi or hire a car. The drive will take around 45 minutes via the A299 and M2 motorway. Alternatively, you can take a train from the airport to Ramsgate Station, which takes just over an hour with a change at Stratford Station.
