To get to Sandwich by car from nearby Dover:
- Head east on the A256 for around 7 miles.
- At the roundabout, take the second exit to stay on the A256.
- Continue straight for around 3 miles before turning left onto the A258.
- Follow the A258 for just over a mile and you'll arrive in Sandwich.
To get to Sandwich by train from Canterbury:
- Take the Southeastern train towards Ramsgate and get off at Sandwich station.
- The journey takes around 15 minutes.
- Alternatively, you can take a train from London St Pancras to Sandwich station, which takes around 1 hour and 40 minutes.
If you are coming from the nearby town of Deal, it's best to take the A258 as it's a straight route, although it can become busy during peak traffic times. From the city of Canterbury, taking the train is a quick and easy option. If travelling from London, it's recommended to take the high-speed train from St Pancras to save time.
