- Climb Ben Nevis - The highest mountain in the UK. It's a challenging climb but the views from the top are worth it. This could take around 7-8 hours.
- Take the Jacobite steam train - Also known as the Hogwarts Express from the Harry Potter films. This scenic train journey takes you through some stunning Highland landscapes. The journey takes around 2 hours.
- Visit Glenfinnan Viaduct - This beautiful viaduct was also featured in the Harry Potter films. It's a great spot for photos and there's a visitor centre nearby. This could take around 1-2 hours.
- Explore the Nevis Range - This area has lots of walking trails and mountain biking routes, as well as a gondola that takes you up the mountain for great views. This could take a full day.
- Take a boat trip on Loch Ness - From Fort William, it's easy to get to Loch Ness and take a boat trip to try and spot the famous monster. This could take around 2-3 hours.
- Visit the West Highland Museum - This museum tells the story of the area and its people. It's a great place to learn about the local history. This could take around 1-2 hours.
For places to stay, there are lots of options in Fort William itself, from budget hostels to luxury hotels. You could also try staying in a nearby village, such as Spean Bridge or Glen Nevis, for a quieter experience.
