If you have one week to spend in Inverness, there are plenty of things to do and see. Here are some suggestions:
- Visit Loch Ness: This is a must-do when in Inverness. You can take a boat tour or drive along the loch and visit Urquhart Castle. Allow for at least half a day to full day for this.
- Explore the city center: Inverness has a charming city center with plenty of shops, restaurants, and historic buildings. You can easily spend a day wandering around and taking in the sights.
- Take a trip to Isle of Skye: The Isle of Skye is a two-hour drive from Inverness, but it's well worth the trip. The stunning landscape and quaint towns make for a perfect day trip. Set aside a full day for this.
- Visit Culloden Battlefield: Learn about the historic battle that took place here and visit the interactive museum. Allow for at least half a day to visit this attraction.
- Go on a whisky tour: The Highlands are known for their whisky, so why not take a tour and learn about the process? There are a few distilleries within driving distance of Inverness. Allow for at least half a day for this.
- Stay in a Scottish Castle: Make your trip extra special by staying in a Scottish castle. There are a few castles in the area that offer accommodation.
