To get to Kirkcudbright by car, take the A75 from Dumfries and follow the signs. From Edinburgh, take the A702 to the A76 and then the A75 to Kirkcudbright. If traveling by train, take the Glasgow to Stranraer line and get off at Dumfries. From there, take the bus or a taxi to Kirkcudbright.
If you are coming from Castle Douglas, take the A75 and follow the signs to Kirkcudbright. From Wigtown, take the A714 then the A75. If you are in Newton Stewart, take the A714 to Girvan then the A75 to Kirkcudbright.
If you want to explore the surrounding area, you can visit the Galloway Forest Park, which is located to the north of Kirkcudbright. To the east, you can visit Dumfries and the Robert Burns Centre. To the south, there are several coastal towns to explore, including Dalbeattie and Castle Douglas.
