If you have 2-3 hours to spend in Ripon, here are some suggestions on what to do:
Visit the stunning Ripon Cathedral and explore its history and architecture. You can take a guided tour or simply wander around on your own. Allow at least an hour for the visit.
If you're in town on a Thursday, head to the market square and check out the weekly market. You can find fresh produce, crafts, and other goods. Allow around 30-45 minutes for the visit.
Take a stroll through the beautiful Spa Gardens and admire the flowers and foliage. You can also rest on one of the benches or have a picnic. Allow around an hour for the visit.
If you're interested in local history, head to the Ripon Museum Trust and learn about the town's past. The museum includes three sites: the Workhouse Museum, the Prison & Police Museum, and the Courthouse Museum. Allow at least an hour for each site or choose one or two to visit depending on your interests.
