3 Hours In Halton
So you've got three hours in
Halton - that's great news. Let's see how you can best use your time while you're here.

If you have 2-3 hours to spend in Halton, there are several options you can consider:
- Visit Norton Priory Museum & Gardens: This medieval monastery turned Tudor mansion turned museum is a must-see attraction. Take a tour of the house and gardens, learn about the history of the monks who once lived there, and see the archaeological finds on display. Plan to spend at least 1.5 hours here.
- Take a stroll along the Bridgewater Canal: Halton is home to a stretch of the historic Bridgewater Canal, which was once used to transport coal and textiles between Manchester and Liverpool. Today, it's a peaceful spot to take a walk and enjoy the scenery. You can also rent a bike or take a boat tour if you have more time.
- Explore Runcorn Old Town: Runcorn is one of the two towns that make up Halton, and its old town area has some charming architecture and interesting shops to check out. You can also visit the medieval Halton Castle ruins if you're interested in history.
Depending on your interests, you could choose to do one or two of these activities. If you're short on time, I recommend prioritizing Norton Priory since it's the most unique and immersive attraction in the area. However, if you want to get some exercise or see more of the town, walking along the canal or exploring Runcorn may be better options. Regardless of what you choose, be sure to budget time for transportation and any meals you want to grab while you're out!
