If you have 2-3 hours to spend in Tyne and Wear, here are some suggestions:
- Visit the iconic Angel of the North statue - it's a quick photo stop and only takes around 15 minutes to see.
- Explore the Quayside area with its stunning bridges and historic buildings. You can stroll along the river or grab a quick bite to eat in one of the many cafes or restaurants. This could take an hour or more depending on how much you want to see.
- Check out the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art - it's free to enter and has some great exhibitions. You could easily spend an hour or more here.
- If you're looking for some retail therapy, head to the Intu Metrocentre - it's one of the largest shopping centres in Europe and has a huge range of shops. You could easily spend a couple of hours here.
- Take a quick trip up the Newcastle Castle Keep for panoramic views of the city. It takes around 30-45 minutes to see everything.
Of course, these are just a few ideas - there are plenty of other things to see and do in Tyne and Wear depending on your interests!
