What Should I Do With Two Days In Hastings?

If you have two days to spend in Hastings, there are plenty of things to keep you busy. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Visit Hastings Castle - this historic site offers stunning views of the town and sea, and you can explore the ruins of William the Conqueror's castle. Allow around 1-2 hours for your visit.
  • Take a stroll along Hastings Pier - rebuilt in 2016, this pier offers shops, cafes, restaurants and fantastic views. You can easily spend a couple of hours here.
  • Explore the Old Town - wander the quaint streets and alleys, browse the independent shops and stop for a drink or lunch in one of the many pubs or cafes. Allow half a day to really soak up the atmosphere.
  • Learn about local history at Hastings Museum - the displays cover everything from prehistoric times to the present day, including a focus on local smugglers and pirates. Allow 1-2 hours for your visit.
  • Relax on the beach - although not the most beautiful beach in the UK, the pebble beach at Hastings still has a charm about it. Bring a book and enjoy some downtime. Time required depends on your level of relaxation!

As for places to stay, there are a variety of options within the town. The White Rock Hotel offers sea views and has a restaurant and bar on site. The Old Rectory is a charming bed and breakfast in the heart of the Old Town. The Zanzibar Hotel is a unique boutique hotel with themed rooms and a rooftop terrace.
