1 Week In Epping Forest

If you have 7 days to spend in Epping Forest, here are some suggestions:
- Visit Epping Forest itself. There are lots of different areas to explore within the forest, including ancient woodlands, streams, and lakes. You could easily spend a whole day walking, cycling, or relaxing here.
- Check out the Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge. This historic building dates back to 1543 and has stunning views over the forest. It shouldn't take more than a couple of hours to visit.
- Learn about local history at the Epping Forest District Museum. They have a range of exhibitions about the area, including displays on archaeology, natural history, and local industry. This should take around 1-2 hours to explore.
- Enjoy a day of family fun at the Lee Valley White Water Centre. Here you can go rafting, kayaking, or canoeing on the Olympic-standard rapids. This is a full-day activity.
- Visit the Waltham Abbey Church and Gardens. This historic abbey dates back to the 11th century and is located just outside of the forest. The gardens are beautifully maintained and it's a great spot for a picnic. This should take around 1-2 hours to explore.
For places to stay, there are lots of options depending on your budget and preferences. There are a few hotels and B&Bs in and around Epping Forest, so it's worth doing some research to find one that suits you. Alternatively, you could look for self-catering accommodation, such as a holiday cottage or apartment.
