If you have one week to spend in Antrim and Newtownabbey, there are plenty of things you can do:
- Visit the stunning Antrim Castle Gardens and Clotworthy House, which also has an art gallery. Allow for 2-3 hours here.
- Take a walk on the Antrim Hills, which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding areas. This could take 3-4 hours depending on the route chosen.
- See the Glenarm Castle and Gardens, which also has a tea room and farm shop. Give yourself at least 2 hours for this attraction.
- Learn about the history of the area at the Ballyclare Town Hall Museum. This won't take too long but is well worth a visit.
- Take a short drive to the Carrickfergus Castle, which is a well-preserved Norman castle. Allow for 2 hours here.
- For food lovers, visit the Antrim Farmers Market to taste some of the local produce. This usually takes place on Saturdays and takes a couple of hours.
