To reach St. David’s by car, coming from the east:
- Take the M4 to the Pont Abraham intersection (Junction 49)
- Follow the A48 to Carmarthen
- Then take the A40 west to Haverfordwest
- From Haverfordwest, take the A487 to St. David’s
Coming from the north:
- Take the A487 south from Aberystwyth
- Follow it through Cardigan and Fishguard to St. David’s
If you prefer to travel by rail, the closest train station to St. David’s is Haverfordwest. You can take a train to Haverfordwest from cities such as Cardiff, Swansea and Manchester. From Haverfordwest, you can take a bus or a taxi to get to St. David’s.
If you’re already in Pembrokeshire and want to visit St. David’s as part of a day trip:
- From Tenby, take the A478 north to Narberth, then the A40 west to Haverfordwest and the A487 to St. David’s
- From Pembroke, take the B4319 north to Haverfordwest, then the A487 to St. David’s
- From Milford Haven, take the A4076 north to Haverfordwest, then the A487 to St. David’s
Driving through Pembrokeshire can be a scenic experience, but be prepared for narrow and winding roads in some areas. Public transportation options (including buses) are limited, especially in rural areas.
