If you are driving, Herefordshire can be reached via the M5, exiting at either Junction 7 or 8 onto the M50 towards Ross-on-Wye and then following signs to Hereford. From Birmingham, take the A44 towards Leominster and follow signs to Hereford. From Cardiff, take the A465 towards Abergavenny and then the Abergavenny-Hereford Road.
If you prefer to travel by rail, Hereford station is served by trains from London Paddington, Birmingham, Cardiff, Manchester and other major cities. There are also connections from nearby towns such as Worcester, Leominster and Ledbury.
If you are coming from nearby landmarks, the Brecon Beacons National Park is to the west, accessed via the A465 or A438. The Forest of Dean is to the southeast, accessed via the A40 or M50. The city of Worcester is to the northeast, accessed via the A4103. The town of Hay-on-Wye, famous for its bookshops, is to the northwest, accessed via the A438 or A4111.
