To get to Buxton by driving, take the A515 if you are coming from the south or the A6 if you are coming from the north. Both routes go directly through the town center. If you are coming from Manchester, you can take the A6 or the A623, which will take you through the Peak District National Park.
If you prefer to take the train, Buxton has its own station that is serviced by regular trains from Manchester, Sheffield, and other nearby towns. From Manchester, take the train from Manchester Piccadilly Station. From Sheffield, take the train from Sheffield Station. If you are coming from further afield, you may need to change trains at one of these stations.
If you are already in the Peak District, you can reach Buxton by taking the popular Monsal Trail. This disused railway line has been turned into a walking and cycling path and offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside as you make your way to Buxton.
