Visiting Brecon

From Cardiff, take the A470 North for approximately 40 miles until you reach Brecon. Alternatively, you can take the train from Cardiff Central station to Abergavenny and change for a train to Brecon.

From Swansea, take the M4 Eastbound and then take the exit for the A470 North. Follow this road for approximately 35 miles until you reach Brecon. Alternatively, you can take the train from Swansea station to Neath and change for a train to Brecon.

If you are coming from Hay-on-Wye, take the B4350 Southbound towards Brecon. This road will take you directly to Brecon.

If you are travelling from the Brecon Beacons National Park, take the A40 towards Abergavenny and then join the A465, which will take you to Brecon.

To avoid traffic and explore the scenic countryside, consider taking the Brecon Mountain Railway from Pant Station to Torpantau and then continue by car from there.

The closest airport to Brecon is Cardiff Airport, which is approximately 40 miles away. If you are driving from the airport, you can take the A470 Northbound towards Brecon. This will take you directly into the town. Alternatively, there are bus and train connections available from Cardiff to Brecon.
