Driving directions:
If coming from London, take the M3 towards Southampton. Exit at junction 8 onto the A303 and follow signs towards Andover. Turn off at the A345 towards Amesbury.
If coming from Bristol, take the M4 towards Swindon. Exit at junction 15 onto the A346 towards Marlborough. At Upavon, turn left onto the A345 towards Amesbury.
Rail directions:
The nearest train station is Salisbury. From there, take the Stonehenge Tour bus which stops at Amesbury. Alternatively, there is a taxi rank outside the train station which can take you directly to Amesbury.

If you're visiting Stonehenge, it's only a short drive to Amesbury. You could also stop at the historic city of Salisbury on your way and visit the medieval cathedral.
The closest airport to Amesbury is Southampton Airport, which is approximately 25 miles away. The best route to take from Southampton Airport to Amesbury would be to take the M27 westbound towards Salisbury, and then take the A36 towards Amesbury. This journey should take around 45 minutes by car.
