6 Hours In Dunbar

If you have 6 hours or a half day to spend in Dunbar, there are plenty of things to do to keep you busy:

• Visit Dunbar Castle and its grounds, which should take about an hour.
• Explore the John Muir Birthplace Museum, which honors the famous naturalist who was born in Dunbar. Plan for about an hour here.
• Enjoy a stroll along the harbor and take in the views of the North Sea. Allow 30 minutes to an hour for this.
• Take a walk on the Dunbar to East Linton section of the John Muir Way, which offers scenic views of the coast and countryside. The whole trail is about 13 miles, but you can choose to walk a shorter section of it. Allow at least 2-3 hours for this.
• Stop by the Dunbar Town House Museum and Gallery, which showcases the town's history and art. Expect to spend about an hour here.
