If you have 2-3 hours to spend in Romsey, there are some great sights to see:
- Romsey Abbey - This historic abbey dates back to the 10th century and features beautiful stained glass windows and a serene atmosphere. Free entry, but donations are welcome. Allow for at least 45 minutes to an hour to explore.
- King John's House and Heritage Centre - Located in a charming 14th-century building, this museum showcases local history and artifacts. Admission is £5 for adults and £4 for seniors/students. Allow for around 45 minutes to an hour to explore.
- Broadlands - If you're a fan of Jane Austen, you'll want to visit the former home of Lord Mountbatten and his ancestors (including Lord Palmerston, Prime Minister during Austen's time). Guided tours are available for £11 per adult, but you must book in advance. Allow for around 1.5 to 2 hours for the tour.
- Shopping and Dining - Romsey has a variety of unique shops and cafes to explore, especially in the town center and along the pedestrianized Church Street. Allow for at least an hour to browse and grab a bite to eat.
