If you have 2-3 hours to spend in Rochdale, there are a few things you can do:
- Visit the Rochdale Pioneers Museum: Learn about the history of the Co-operative movement and the Rochdale Society of Equitable Pioneers. This museum is interactive and informative, taking you through the story of how a group of 28 people came together to form a co-operative society in 1844. This should take around 1 hour to visit.
- Take a walk in the Healey Dell Nature Reserve: If you're a nature lover, take a stroll through the Healey Dell Nature Reserve. This beautiful green space is home to a variety of wildlife and is a great place to get some fresh air. The walking trail is easy and should take about an hour and a half.
- Explore the Rochdale Town Hall:Take a tour of the stunning Grade I listed building, Rochdale Town Hall. This tour will take you through the impressive building, including the great hall and the council chambers. This should take around 45 minutes to an hour.
