- Explore St. Magnus Cathedral: This impressive medieval cathedral is a must-see for history buffs. Admission is free and it’s located in the heart of Kirkwall, the largest town on the islands. Plan to spend 30-45 minutes here.
- Take a walk: There are plenty of lovely walks in the Orkney Islands, including along the coast and through historical sites like the Ring of Brodgar and Maeshowe. Depending on your pace and route, plan for 1-2 hours for a leisurely walk.
- Visit the Orkney Museum: This small museum in Kirkwall offers a glimpse into Orkney’s history and culture. Allow 30-45 minutes to explore the exhibits.
