If you have 2-3 hours to spend in Larne town, here are a few suggestions on what to do:
- Larne Museum and Arts Centre: This museum is located in the historic Carnegie building and offers a glimpse into Larne's past. You can easily spend an hour or so exploring the exhibits here.
- The Promenade: Take a stroll along the promenade and enjoy the stunning views of the sea and the surrounding coastline. This walk can take about 30-45 minutes depending on your pace.
- Larne Leisure Centre: If you're looking for a more active way to spend your time, head to the Larne Leisure Centre. Here you can swim, play sports, or work out. Depending on the activity, you can spend anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours here.
- Carnfunnock Country Park: This park is located just outside of Larne and offers beautiful gardens, walking trails, and a maze. It takes about 15-20 minutes to drive there, but you can easily spend a couple of hours exploring the park.
