What Should I Do With Two Days In Test Valley?

If you have 2 days to spend in Test Valley, Hampshire, here are some suggestions:

  • Visit the historic Mottisfont Abbey and its stunning gardens. Allow at least half a day for this. There is also a café and shop on site.
  • Go for a scenic walk or bike ride in the New Forest National Park. Allow a full day for this as there are plenty of trails to choose from and wildlife to spot.
  • Take a tour and do some wine tasting at the Black Chalk Vineyard. Allow 2-3 hours for this. You can also purchase wine from their shop.
  • Explore the charming town of Romsey and visit its famous Norman abbey. Allow half a day for this and some time to wander around the town's independent shops.
  • Visit the Hawk Conservancy Trust and watch flying displays of birds of prey. Allow a full day for this as there are also indoor and outdoor aviaries to visit and a café on site.

As for places to stay, there are plenty of options including hotels, B&Bs and self-catering cottages. The White Horse Hotel and Brasserie in Romsey is a good choice for a centrally located hotel, while the Cottages at the Mill in nearby Dunbridge offer cosy self-catering accommodation in a rural setting.
