If you have two days to spend in Southport, there are lots of things you can do! Here are some suggestions:
- Visit the Southport Pier - this is the oldest iron pier in the country and offers fantastic views out to sea. It's free to stroll along the pier, but if you want to go to the end there is a small charge. Allow 1-2 hours.
- Explore the Botanic Gardens - these beautiful gardens have a wide variety of plants and flowers, a lake, and a cafe. Free entry. Allow 1-2 hours.
- Go shopping on Lord Street - this elegant tree-lined street has a mixture of high-street stores and independent boutiques. Allow a few hours.
- Learn about local history at the Atkinson - this museum and art gallery has exhibits about the history of Southport, as well as temporary exhibitions. Free entry (some exhibits may have a charge). Allow 2-3 hours.
- Relax on the beach - Southport has a long, sandy beach that's perfect for a stroll or a picnic. Free activity.
