If you have 2 days to spend in Ribble Valley, there are a number of things you can do to make the most of your time there. Here are a few suggestions:
Day 1:
- Take a leisurely walk around Clitheroe Castle, which is set in beautiful grounds and has a museum and art gallery. Allow 1-2 hours.
- Visit Whalley Abbey, a ruined Cistercian monastery with beautiful gardens. Allow 2-3 hours.
- Explore the village of Downham, which has been used as a filming location for various TV shows and movies. You can also go on a guided walk to learn more about the history of the village. Allow 2-3 hours.
Day 2:
- Go for a hike in the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with stunning views. There are various routes to choose from, ranging in difficulty and length. Allow 3-4 hours.
- Visit Browsholme Hall, a historic house with gorgeous gardens and a tea room. Allow 2-3 hours.
- Take a look around the Byrne's Wine Shop in Clitheroe, where you can taste and buy a range of wines. Allow 1 hour.
