If you've only got two days to spend in Lincolnshire, here are a few suggestions of things to do:
- Lincoln Cathedral: A stunning medieval cathedral that took over 300 years to complete. Give yourself at least a couple of hours to explore.
- Lincoln Castle: Home to one of the four remaining copies of the Magna Carta. Plan to spend at least two hours here.
- Woolsthorpe Manor: The birthplace of Sir Isaac Newton. It's about a 45 minute drive from Lincoln, but worth it if you're a science buff. Give yourself 1-2 hours to tour the house and gardens.
- Lincoln Christmas Market: If you're visiting in December, don't miss this huge outdoor market with hundreds of stalls selling gifts, food, and drink. Allow several hours to explore.
As for places to stay, there are plenty of options in and around Lincoln, from budget-friendly hotels to luxury B&Bs. Some options to consider:
- The Lincoln Hotel: A historic hotel right in the center of town, with views of the cathedral.
- The White Hart Hotel: Another historic option, located in a 14th-century building with a cozy bar and restaurant.
- The Rest Hotel: A small, modern hotel with stylish rooms and a great location near the castle.
