If you have two days to spend in Hereford, there are plenty of things to see and do. Here are some suggestions:
Day 1:
- Visit Hereford Cathedral - it's a beautiful building with lots of history. Allow around 1-2 hours to explore.
- Stroll around the city centre and do some shopping - Hereford has a good mix of independent shops and well-known brands. Allow a couple of hours for this.
- Have lunch at The Beefy Boys - a popular burger joint that serves up delicious food. Allow around an hour for lunch.
- Take a walk by the River Wye - Hereford has some lovely riverside walks that are perfect for a relaxing afternoon. Allow a couple of hours for this.
Day 2:
- Visit the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library Exhibition - Hereford Cathedral is also home to this fascinating exhibition. Allow around 1-2 hours to explore.
- Take a trip to the Cider Museum - Herefordshire is famous for its cider, and this museum is a great way to learn about the history of cider-making in the area. Allow 1-2 hours for this.
- Have lunch at the Bookshop - a quirky cafe in a converted bookshop, with a great selection of vegetarian and vegan food. Allow around an hour for lunch.
- Visit Berrington Hall - a National Trust property just outside of Hereford, with beautiful gardens and a house full of history. Allow a couple of hours for this.
For places to stay, there are plenty of options in and around Hereford. The Green Dragon Hotel is a good option if you want to stay in the city centre, while The Cottage in the Wood is a lovely hotel just outside of Hereford with great views over the countryside.
