If you have 2 days to spend in Gwynedd, there are plenty of things to see and do. Here are some suggestions:
Day 1:
- Mount Snowdon - Take a hike up the highest mountain in Wales. If you're feeling adventurous, you can complete the Snowdon Horseshoe, but it's a challenging 8-hour hike. Alternatively, take the Snowdon Mountain Railway to the summit and enjoy the stunning views.
- Caernarfon Castle - Explore this impressive fortress and UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was built by Edward I in the late 13th century. Allow around 2 hours for a visit.
- Portmeirion - This Italianate village is a unique and picturesque attraction. Take a stroll around the colourful buildings and beautiful gardens, and grab a bite to eat in one of the restaurants. Allow around 3 hours for a visit.
Day 2:
- Harlech Castle - Another impressive fortress built by Edward I, Harlech Castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take a stroll around the castle and enjoy the stunning views over Cardigan Bay. Allow around 2 hours for a visit.
- Zip World - For an adrenaline-filled experience, head to Zip World in Bethesda. You can ride Europe's fastest zipline, take a high-speed boat tour, or try your hand at the underground net adventure. Allow around 3 hours for a visit.
- Llyn Padarn - This beautiful lake is a great spot for a relaxing walk. Take in the views of Snowdonia's mountain ranges and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Allow around 1-2 hours for a visit.
