If you have 7 days to spend in Whitstable, you have plenty of time to explore the town and its surrounding areas. Here are some suggestions:
Day 1:
- Take a stroll along the beach and enjoy the sea views.
- Visit the Whitstable Castle and Gardens, which also has a tea room for a quick refreshment
- Have a fresh seafood lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants on the high street, such as The Oyster Pearl or Crab and Winkle.
Day 2:
- Take a walk down the high street, which has many independent shops and boutiques selling unique items, from clothes to arts and crafts.
- Spend some time at the Whitstable Museum and Gallery - learning about the town's history and art exhibitions
- In the evening, head to the harbor and enjoy a sunset stroll.
Day 3:
- Take a day trip to Canterbury - hop on a train and it will take only 10-15 minutes to reach
- In Canterbury, visit the famous Canterbury Cathedral, explore the historic city center, and enjoy the mix of traditional and modern shops and restaurants.
Day 4:
- Visit the Whitstable Harbour and watch the catch of the day come in or take a fishing or seal watching tour.
- Take a walk, jog, or cycle along the Oyster Bay Trail which crosses a variety of landscapes, from landscapes and traditional farmland to coastal cliffs and salt marsh.
Day 5:
- Experience the countryside and head to the Brogdale National Fruit Collection. A countryside walk will lead you to discover the most extensive collection of temperate fruit varieties anywhere in the world.
Day 6 and 7:
- Explore the surrounding towns such as Faversham, known for its fresh hop festival and local markets, or Margate, where you can visit the Turner Contemporary Art Gallery and take a stroll on its sandy beach.
- For places to stay, consider The Marine Hotel, which offers a seaview from all rooms. And The Crescent Turner Hotel and Whitstable Bay Bed and Breakfast are also great options.
