What Should I Do For One Week In Reading?

If you have 7 days to spend in Reading, there are a lot of things you can do! Here are some suggestions:

Day 1:

Start off by exploring the town centre and visiting the historic Reading Abbey. Afterwards, take a stroll along the River Thames and stop for lunch at one of the many riverside cafes or pubs.

Day 2:

Visit the fascinating Museum of English Rural Life, which showcases the history of farming and rural life in England. Afterwards, head to the nearby University of Reading campus to see some impressive modern architecture.

Day 3:

Take a day trip out of town to the stunning nearby village of Pangbourne, where you can enjoy views of the river and explore the picturesque streets.

Day 4:

Get your shopping fix by visiting the Oracle Shopping Centre, which has a huge range of shops and restaurants. Afterwards, check out the Reading Prison museum, which is housed in a building that once held famous inmates like Oscar Wilde.

Day 5:

Take a leisurely walk around Forbury Gardens, a beautiful park in the heart of the town centre. Afterwards, visit the nearby ruins of Reading's ancient Roman town.

Day 6:

Explore the many parks and nature reserves around Reading, including Dinton Pastures Country Park and the nearby Chiltern Hills.

Day 7:

Spend your last day in town at the Reading Festival, one of the UK's biggest music festivals, which takes place every August Bank Holiday weekend.
