If you have 7 days to spend in Perth, Scotland, there are plenty of things to do and see. Here are some suggestions:
- Visit Scone Palace: This historic castle and beautiful gardens are a must-see. Allow yourself at least half a day to enjoy it fully.
- Explore Perth City Centre: Perth has a charming city centre with plenty of shops, cafes, and historic buildings. Plan to spend a full day wandering around and enjoying the sights.
- Take a Hike: Perthshire is known for its stunning scenery and hiking trails. Take a day or two to explore some of the nearby trails like the Birks of Aberfeldy or the Hermitage.
- Visit the Scottish Crannog Centre: This unique museum is built on a reconstructed ancient loch dwelling. Plan to spend at least a half day seeing the exhibits and trying out some ancient crafts.
- Go Whisky Tasting: Perthshire is home to several whisky distilleries, including Dewar's Aberfeldy. Take a tour and sample some of the best single malts Scotland has to offer. Plan to spend a half day on the tour.
- Visit Loch Tay: This scenic loch is surrounded by mountains and has plenty of boating, kayaking, and fishing opportunities. Spend a day exploring the area and enjoying the views.
As far as places to stay, there are plenty of options in Perth including hotels, bed and breakfasts, and holiday rentals. Look for options close to Perth City Centre for easy access to restaurants and shops. Airbnbs and vacation rentals in the surrounding countryside can provide a unique and quiet experience.
