What Should I Do For One Week In Pembrokeshire?

If you have 7 days to spend in Pembrokeshire, here are some suggestions for things to do and see:

  • Explore the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park – take a full day or even two to hike some of the scenic coastal paths, admire the views and spot the local wildlife.
  • Visit St David’s Cathedral – the smallest city in Britain is home to a beautiful 12th-century cathedral, as well as galleries, shops and cafes.
  • Go to the beach – Pembrokeshire is famous for its beautiful sandy beaches, such as Barafundle Bay, Tenby South Beach and Whitesands Bay. Spend a day or two soaking up the sun and swimming in the sea.
  • Take a boat trip to Skomer Island – this nature reserve is a paradise for birdwatchers, as well as being home to puffins, seals and other wildlife. Book your tickets in advance and allow a full day for the trip.
  • Explore historical sites – Pembrokeshire has a rich history and many castles, forts and museums to visit, including Pembroke Castle, Carew Castle and the Castell Henllys Iron Age Village. Plan for a day or half-day per site.
  • Go on a sea kayaking or coasteering adventure – for a more active holiday, book a guided tour of Pembrokeshire’s coastline and get up close and personal with the waves and rocks. Allow a half-day or full day for each activity.

As for places to stay, there are many options to suit different budgets and preferences. You could try a cosy B&B, a self-catering cottage or apartment, a stylish glamping tent or even a luxury hotel. Some popular options include:

  • The Grove of Narberth – a charming country house hotel with a spa and fine dining restaurant.
  • Fforest – a unique glamping experience in a beautiful forest setting, offering activities such as yoga, bushcraft and outdoor cooking.
  • Celtic Haven – a family-friendly resort with self-catering cottages, a leisure complex and a cliff-top golf course.
  • Penrhiw Hotel – a peaceful retreat in St David’s, with luxurious rooms and a relaxing atmosphere.
  • Rockmount Bed and Breakfast – a homely B&B in Tenby, with lovely hosts and a delicious breakfast.

Remember to book in advance, especially during peak season, and to check any Covid-19 restrictions or guidelines before you travel.
