What Should I Do For One Week In Lowestoft?

If you have 7 days to spend in Lowestoft, there are a number of things you can do. Here are some suggestions:

1. Visit the Lowestoft Maritime Museum - this museum has exhibits on the maritime history of the town and is worth a visit. Allow around 2 hours to see everything.

2. Go to Ness Point - this is the most easterly point of the UK and a great place for a walk and some stunning views. Allow around 1 hour for a visit.

3. Spend a day at the beach - Lowestoft has a lovely long sandy beach that's perfect for a day of sun and swimming. You could easily spend a whole day here.

4. Visit Somerleyton Hall and Gardens - this stately home and gardens is around 6 miles from Lowestoft and is well worth a visit. Allow around 3-4 hours to see everything.

5. Explore Oulton Broad - this is a beautiful area of waterways and green spaces, perfect for a walk or boat trip. Allow a couple of hours to explore.

6. Take a day trip to Southwold - this picturesque seaside town is just a short drive from Lowestoft and is a lovely place to spend the day. You could spend around 4-5 hours here.

For places to stay, there are plenty of hotels and B&Bs in the town centre. The Winelodge and The Hotel Victoria are both good options. Alternatively, if you want to be closer to the beach, there are some lovely guesthouses and B&Bs along Marine Parade.
