What Should I Do For One Week In Lichfield?

If you have a week to spend in Lichfield, there are plenty of things to do and see. Firstly, you could visit Lichfield Cathedral which is a stunning medieval cathedral with much history behind it. You could spend a few hours here exploring the grounds and looking at the architecture. Another must-see place is Samuel Johnson Birthplace Museum, which takes you through the life and times of the famous lexicographer Samuel Johnson. It is a small museum but is very informative and enjoyable. Also, a good day trip would be to Drayton Manor Theme Park which has attractions for all ages and is around 15 minutes away from the town. Another great place to visit is a National Trust property called Shugborough Hall which has a museum, farm, and gardens. If you are interested in classic cars, the Staffordshire County Showground hosts a bi-annual classic car show which would be a great way to spend a day. As for places to stay, The George Hotel and The Cathedral Hotel are both highly rated places to stay in the town center.
