If you have 7 days to spend in Cupar, there are plenty of things to do and see:
- Falkland Palace: This Renaissance palace and gardens are a must-visit. You can easily spend 2-3 hours exploring the rooms and wandering through the gardens.
- The Scottish Deer Centre: If you love animals, this is the place for you. You'll need about 2-3 hours to see all the different deer and other animals.
- The Fife Coastal Path: This footpath runs along the coast for 117 miles, but you can just take a shorter section if you'd like. The views are amazing!
- The Scottish Fisheries Museum: If you're interested in fishing and the history of fishing in Scotland, you'll love this museum. Plan to spend 2-3 hours there.
- The Ceres Highland Games: If you happen to be in town in late June or early July, don't miss the Ceres Highland Games. You'll see caber-tossing, tug-of-war, and other Scottish games.
As for places to stay, there are a variety of options:
- The Inn at Lathones: This charming inn is a little bit outside of Cupar, but it's worth it for the quiet countryside location. It also has a great restaurant.
- Wester Dura Farmhouse B&B: This B&B is located on a farm, so you can wake up to the sound of animals. It's also very close to the Fife Coastal Path.
- The County Hotel: This hotel is located in the center of Cupar, so it's very convenient for exploring the town.
