What Should I Do For One Week In Ceredigion?

If you have 7 days to spend in town in Ceredigion, there are plenty of things to see and do. Here are some suggestions:

  • Visit the seaside town of Aberystwyth and stroll along the promenade or take the cliff railway to the top of Constitution Hill. This will take a half-day minimum.
  • Take the Vale of Rheidol railway from Aberystwyth to Devil's Bridge, a scenic journey through stunning Welsh countryside. Allow at least 2 hours for the round trip.
  • Explore the ruins of the impressive Strata Florida Abbey, originally founded in the 12th century. This could take 2-3 hours.
  • Go dolphin watching in Cardigan Bay, with boat trips available from New Quay. This could last between 1-3 hours depending on the tour.
  • Visit the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth, which houses many rare books and manuscripts. This could take an hour or more depending on your interest in the topic.
  • Take a trip to the stunning Ceredigion coastline and visit the picturesque village of Llangrannog or go for a hike along the Ceredigion Coast Path. Plan a full day for this.

For places to stay, there are a variety of options for all budgets. If you want to be in Aberystwyth, there are many hotels and guesthouses to choose from. Alternately, consider staying in a holiday cottage or caravan in one of the many scenic villages throughout the county.
