If you have 7 days to spend in Caernarfon, here are some suggestions for things to do:
- Visit Caernarfon Castle - allow 2-3 hours to explore the castle and its exhibits.
- Take a walk along the Caernarfon Harbour and Marina - allow 1-2 hours to stroll around, take in the scenery and maybe stop for a drink or food at one of the local cafes or pubs.
- Visit Segontium Roman Fort - allow 2-3 hours to explore the ruins and learn about the history of the fort.
- Take a ride on the Welsh Highland Railway - allow 4-5 hours for a full round trip journey through the scenic countryside.
- Visit the National Slate Museum - allow 2-3 hours to see the history of slate mining in the area and visit the workshops to see how slate is still worked today.
- Explore the town centre and its shops and restaurants - allow a few hours to wander around, pop in and out of the local businesses and enjoy the atmosphere of the town.
As for places to stay, there are plenty of options in and around Caernarfon. You could opt for a hotel such as The Celtic Royal Hotel or The Anglesey Arms, or choose a bed and breakfast such as The Black Boy Inn or Victoria House.
