What Should I Do For One Week In Angus?

If you have 7 days to spend in Angus, there are plenty of things to see and do! Here are some suggestions:

Day 1:

Start your trip by visiting Glamis Castle, which is around 20 minutes from Angus. This stunning castle is famous for its connections to Shakespeare's Macbeth. You can take a guided tour and explore the castle grounds.

Day 2:

Visit the coastal town of Arbroath and see the stunning red sandstone cliffs. Make sure to stop at the Arbroath Abbey which dates back to 1178. You can take a guided tour or explore on your own.

Day 3:

Spend some time exploring the stunning Cairngorms National Park which is around a 50-minute drive from Angus. This beautiful area has plenty of walking trails and scenic vistas to take in.

Day 4:

Visit Montrose, which has a rich history and stunning natural surroundings. Take a walk in the Montrose Basin Nature Reserve to see a variety of birdlife. You can also stop at Montrose Museum to learn about local history.

Day 5:

Explore the picturesque town of Brechin which is famous for its stunning cathedral and beautiful gardens. Visit the Pictavia Visitor Centre to learn about the history of the Picts, an ancient people who once lived in this area.

Day 6:

Visit the town of Forfar and see the famous Forfar Bridie, a local savory pastry. Take a walk around Forfar Loch and stop at the town's museum to learn more about the area's history.

Day 7:

End your trip by seeing some of the historic castles in the area, such as Edzell Castle or Dunnottar Castle. Dunnottar Castle is around an hour's drive from Angus but is definitely worth the trip!
